An internal system that took up to 20 hours a month off the company's administration. Holidays are approved online, meeting rooms are booked in one calendar, and data is never entered twice.

The brief
Holidays and meeting room bookings were handled outside any system — through e-mails, spreadsheets and corridor conversations. That produced mistakes in the recorded data and a lot of unnecessary administration. The company needed one place where both would be recorded and approved.
The solution
A holiday request runs through the system from submission to approval. The employee sees the status of their request and their remaining days, the manager approves in a couple of clicks, and nothing gets lost in e-mail.
Meeting room bookings run in a single shared calendar that watches occupancy. The system won't allow the same room to be booked twice for the same time.
Data is entered once, in one place, which removed the main source of errors — manual re-typing between spreadsheets and e-mails.
